Welcome to the Scarborough & District Branch Website.

Established in 1867, we are now in our 143rd year and we are one of the oldest branches in the United Kingdom. We are totally self-funded and are responsible for the area stretching between Whitby, Scarborough & Filey over to Pickering & Helmsley, including all the villages in between. All of the Committee and the majority of people within the Branch are volunteers. We can, however, always use more help so please think about joining the increasing list of volunteers.

Our Charity Shop is doing very well due to the excellent reputation we have earned and the extremely good donations we receive. Public support is vital and we greatly appreciate all the donations. You may already have noticed, that we have expanded into the premises next door on Victoria Road. We recently had both properties painted in the RSPCA dark blue and we shall be using No 10 for sorting and storage, allowing us to display more stock in No 8.

All the money is raised locally and is spent locally – it costs approximately £8000 per month to care for animals waiting to be adopted. Some of the income we receive is kindly given to us in legacies. If you would like to choose the local RSPCA as a beneficiary please make your solicitor aware and stipulate in your will “Scarborough & District RSPCA Branch. Registered Charity 232233.”

If you would like to help in the shop or organise a fundraising event please contact us.
